Music LAB provides technology-enabled tools for artists, labels, and rightsholders, primarily focused on music created using artificial intelligence or AI-assisted processes. The Service may evolve over time and features may be added, modified, or removed.
Services may include:
- Authorship Certification: recording and documenting authorship/contribution claims based on user-provided data (not a legal authority).
- Traceability: tracking identification events and metadata history (technical records, not legal proof by themselves).
- ACR Verification: fingerprint-based matching and validation using third-party technologies (no guaranteed accuracy).
- Blockchain Registration: optional hashing/timestamping/recording data on supported networks (not a copyright office).
- Distribution: delivering content and metadata to DSPs (DSPs control acceptance, monetization, and takedowns).
- Promotion: promotional tools/campaign support (no guaranteed results, placement, or revenue).
To use Music LAB, you must be at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into these Terms. You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information and keep your account credentials confidential.
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
You retain all right, title, and interest, including all intellectual property rights, in and to your music, sound recordings, lyrics, artwork, metadata, and any AI-generated or AI-assisted elements ("User Content").
Music LAB does not claim ownership, authorship, copyright, or neighboring rights in any User Content. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as a transfer of ownership, a work-for-hire arrangement, or a joint authorship/co-creation claim.
To operate the Service, you grant Music LAB a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, limited license to store, process, analyze, display, and technically transform your User Content (e.g., encoding, fingerprinting), and to generate traceability/provenance records and reports.
This license is limited to providing the Service and terminates when your content is removed, subject to legal, technical, or contractual retention requirements (for example, audit logs, reporting, or blockchain records).
Music LAB may use AI and automated systems for identification, classification, validation, traceability, and reporting.
Music LAB does not use User Content to train AI models unless you explicitly authorize it via an opt-in mechanism or written agreement.
You are responsible for accurately disclosing whether content is AI-generated or AI-assisted. DSP acceptance, monetization, promotion, or takedown decisions are outside Music LAB’s control. Music LAB does not make legal determinations regarding copyright eligibility of AI-generated works.
You can use Music LAB on the Free plan or on a paid subscription. Each higher-tier plan includes the features of lower-tier plans. The features, credits, and prices of each plan are listed on our pricing page and may change over time.
Current plans (subject to change):
- Free: No fee. Create releases and artists, log your creative journey, and reach Music LAB Radio.
- Listener: Everything in Free, plus Music LAB Radio without ads and a contribution to the Artist Revenue Pool.
- Creator: Everything in Listener, plus Inspire, Authorship Certification, and accounting for the music you release.
- Producer: Everything in Creator, plus music videos, an artist public page, and promotion tools.
- Studio: Everything in Producer, for teams running more than one catalogue. Not yet available for purchase.
Free trial: new accounts can try the Creator plan for 7 days without a credit card. When the trial ends, the account returns to the Free plan unless you subscribe. Songs generated with Inspire during the trial may not be used for commercial purposes.
Credits: credits are platform usage units for AI generation and other operations. Some plans include a monthly credit allowance, and credits can also be bought separately. Credits are not money, have no cash value, and are not royalties, revenue, or ownership shares.
Paid subscription fees are billed on a recurring basis. By subscribing, you authorize Music LAB to charge the applicable fees and taxes using your selected payment method. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Failure to process payment may result in the loss of paid plan features.
Music LAB may update pricing, plan features, and billing terms from time to time. Changes generally apply at renewal unless otherwise required by law.
If you use distribution features, you authorize Music LAB to deliver your content and metadata to selected DSPs. DSPs operate under their own terms and policies, and Music LAB does not guarantee DSP acceptance, availability, monetization, editorial placement, or promotional outcomes.
Royalties collection: You authorize Music LAB to collect royalties generated through DSPs on your behalf (directly or through partners), deduct applicable commissions/fees, and maintain the remaining amount as an internal account balance associated with your profile.
Commission: Music LAB retains a percentage-based commission on royalties from distribution services. Rates may vary by plan and will be disclosed within the Application, on the website, or in a distribution addendum. Rates may change over time.
Withdrawals: Withdrawals are processed via third-party payment providers and are subject to a minimum withdrawal threshold, payout rules, and identity/tax/compliance verification. Balances are not interest-bearing and may be adjusted due to DSP corrections, refunds, chargebacks, or reporting updates.
Unclaimed earnings: Your balance does not expire. For as long as your account is open, you can request a withdrawal of it at any time, however long ago it was earned. Uncollected earnings are only given up when an account is closed, as described in Section 7.
Reporting delays: DSP reports may be delayed, revised, or restated. Music LAB does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party reports.
Music LAB acts solely as a technical and operational intermediary and does not provide banking, escrow, or financial advisory services.
You can ask to close your account at any time from your profile. Music LAB may also close an account under Section 10. Every step below is counted from the day the closure is requested.
- Day 0 — the request: your account is closed and you can no longer use the Service. Your releases are taken down from every store and withdrawn from Music LAB's public pages and the Music LAB Radio, and your subscription stops renewing. Stores apply takedowns on their own schedule, so a release may remain visible on a store for some time.
- Days 0 to 30 — you can change your mind: sign in and cancel the request, and your account comes back. Releases that were taken down are not distributed again automatically: you distribute them again yourself.
- Day 30 — the point of no return: your artists, releases and tracks are deleted together with their files, you leave any account shared with other people, and your subscription ends without a refund for the rest of the period. Unused credits have no cash value and are not refunded. From this day the closure cannot be cancelled.
- Days 30 to 180 — collecting: stores can take several months to report what your music earned. During this time you can still sign in, but only to collect your earnings, and anything a store reports late is added to your balance.
- Day 180, or earlier if you choose — the final closure: your account is closed for good. You can bring this forward and give up what is left: you confirm it with your password and, if enabled, your authentication code, after we show you the amount you are giving up. That decision is recorded with its date and amount.
Uncollected earnings go to the community: whatever you have not collected at the final closure, and any earnings a store reports for your music after it, are given to the Music LAB Radio revenue pool, which is shared among the artists of the Music LAB Radio. Music LAB does not keep this money, and once given to the pool it can no longer be paid to you. If a withdrawal is still being processed, or is under review after a failed payment, the final closure waits until it is resolved.
Shared accounts: if other people are members of an account you created, that account cannot be closed with yours while they remain members. In an account created by someone else, closing yours only removes your access to it.
After the final closure: you can no longer sign in, and your personal data is anonymized as described in the Privacy Policy. Some records remain because the law or the integrity of the Service requires them: payment, royalty, tax and billing records; certificates, blockchain records and other provenance evidence; and the metadata and credits of works already delivered to stores. Your email address can be used to create a new account, which starts without a free trial.
You represent and warrant that you own or control all necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not infringe third-party rights or violate applicable law or DSP policies. You are solely responsible for resolving any disputes related to ownership, authorship, or rights claims.
You may not:
- Upload content you do not have rights to
- Misrepresent authorship, ownership, or AI disclosure
- Attempt to manipulate ACR, traceability, or reporting systems
- Circumvent DSP rules or safeguards
- Use the Service for unlawful, abusive, or deceptive purposes
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Music LAB makes no warranties regarding the legal validity of certifications, the accuracy of third-party systems, DSP acceptance/performance, or revenue/promotional outcomes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Music LAB is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost revenue or business opportunities.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Music LAB from claims arising from your User Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of third-party rights.
Privacy: Use of the Service is subject to the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
Suspension/termination: Music LAB may suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated, credible infringement claims are received, or required by law or third-party obligations. Certain records (including blockchain or traceability data) may persist after termination. A closure by Music LAB follows the steps in Section 7, unless the law or the reason for the closure requires otherwise.
Changes: Music LAB may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. These Terms are effective as of 2026-10-01.
