Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-01

Thank you for trusting Music LAB. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Music LAB (the "Service") is a product operated by EpicCode ("EpicCode", "we", "our", or "us").

1. Identity and Access

When you register for Music LAB, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, company or label name, and billing information. This data is used to identify you within the Application, provide access to the Service, and communicate service-related information (including notifications and invoices).

We do not sell, rent, or commercially exploit your personal data. We do not use your name, artist name, label name, or organization for marketing or promotional purposes without your explicit consent.

All data related to you, your organization, and your musical content is treated as private. Access is strictly limited to users authorized by you or your team.

2. Types of Data Collected

Music LAB may collect and process the following categories of data:

  • Account Data: name, email address, organization or label name, billing details
  • Music Content: audio files, lyrics, artwork, and other assets uploaded by you
  • Metadata: artist and contributor information, credits, ISRCs, release details, AI provenance and disclosure metadata
  • Technical Data: IP address, device and browser information, system logs, and usage data
3. AI and Automated Processing

Music LAB may use artificial intelligence and automated processing to provide services such as:

  • Audio analysis and music identification
  • Content curation and classification
  • AI provenance, traceability, and disclosure
  • Metadata validation and enrichment

Music LAB does not use user-submitted content to train AI models unless you explicitly authorize such use through a written agreement or an opt-in mechanism within the Service.

4. Third-Party Services

To operate and deliver the Service, Music LAB may integrate with trusted third-party providers, including but not limited to:

  • Digital Service Providers (DSPs)
  • Audio recognition and fingerprinting services
  • Cloud infrastructure, storage, analytics, and security providers

These third parties receive only the minimum data required to perform their services and are contractually obligated to protect your information.

5. Data Security and Encryption

All data transmitted between your browser and Music LAB servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS. Backups are encrypted at rest.

Certain operational data may not be encrypted within databases to ensure performance and reliability; however, access is strictly restricted to authorized systems and personnel.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Data submitted to Music LAB is retained only as long as necessary to provide the Service, fulfill contractual obligations, and comply with legal, licensing, and royalty reporting requirements.

Deleting your account: you can ask to delete your account from your profile at any time. Deletion follows the timeline in Section 7 of the Terms of Use: you can cancel it for 30 days, your artists, releases, tracks and their files are deleted on day 30, and your account stays open only for collecting earnings until its final closure, 180 days after the request or earlier if you choose.

Anonymization at the final closure: your personal data is anonymized rather than kept under your name. In particular:

  • your name and email address are replaced, and your password, two-factor authentication, sessions and trusted devices are removed, so the account can no longer be accessed;
  • the IP addresses and device information of your sessions, your Discord link (you are also removed from the Music LAB community server) and your analytics identifiers are deleted;
  • your follows, likes, notification preferences and product usage events are deleted;
  • the email addresses of contributors in accounts that close with yours are deleted, and the name and email kept by our payment provider for your subscription are anonymized.

What is kept, and why: some records remain after anonymization, no longer linked to your name or email address:

  • payment, royalty, statement, subscription and billing records, and the payout account past payments were sent to, which we must keep for legal, tax and accounting purposes;
  • the activity history of the account, as an audit trail;
  • certificates, blockchain records and the metadata of works already delivered to stores, which are evidence that cannot be altered, including the names of contributors credited on those works.

Email fingerprint: we keep a keyed, one-way fingerprint of your email address. It cannot be turned back into the address and is used only so that a new account created with it does not receive a second free trial.

Third-party services: some providers keep their own copies, such as our support chat, email delivery and monitoring services. We ask them to delete what they hold about you when your account is deleted or when you request it at info@music-lab.ai. Stores and other platforms your music was delivered to apply their own retention policies.

You can also request deletion of your personal data, or ask about what we keep, by contacting info@music-lab.ai.

8. GDPR & CCPA Compliance

Music LAB is designed to comply with applicable data protection regulations, including GDPR (European Union) and CCPA/CPRA (California).

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or updating of your data
  • Request deletion of your personal data
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data (Music LAB does not sell personal data)

Requests related to these rights can be submitted by contacting info@music-lab.ai. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be stored or processed in countries other than your country of residence. We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that your data remains protected regardless of where it is processed.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Music LAB reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will become effective upon publication within the Application or on our website.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 2026-10-01.
